"If you wait until you're ready you'll be waiting forever." The mere idea of being ready is a figment of the imagination. One is never ready for anything. You can’t prepare, life just happens. It’s more of a matter of learning to become comfortable with the unexpected. Because to be honest that’s how it is. There’s no such thing as a psychic. No one can tell you exactly how things will work out because the universe has a mind of it’s own. Something can be going in one direction for miles and then out of nowhere take a sharp turn and crash into a building. Life is full of mishaps, surprises, turn of events, and plot twists. They’re all unavoidable. It’s why you can’t wait for things to happen the way you want them to. You have to consciously choose to go with the flow. Worrying, over analyzing, revisiting past mistakes will leave you stuck. They will paralyze you with fear. You will never gain the courage to move past it because you won't know how. How is over thinking it helping you? Are you learning anything new? Gaining experience? Leaving your comfort zone? No. You're not pushing yourself, you're preventing yourself from growing into the person you're meant to become. I'm writing this to encourage myself, because I can feel the anxiety creeping in, but I know I'm not the only one who's felt this way at some point. For me, the unknown is one of the most terrifying things in the world. Failure. Rejection. Making mistakes. They're all a part of the valuable life lessons we must all learn, and I dread it. I have no patience. I try to skip the important part. I know there's no need to worry. I know I'll be fine. And yet without fail, every time, the self doubt resurfaces. Trust me, I understand it's not easy. I know how much easier it is to say "Don't be nervous! You'll be great!" then to actually believe it, but you have to. If you don't who else will? You can look to others for guidance and support but at the end of the day it's up to you to pick yourself up. You have to comfort yourself. You have to remember that, no matter what, in the end everything will work out just fine. If it's not fine then it's not the end. Don't skip to the finish line before you've run the race. Accept what comes your way because it may bring happiness into your life somewhere down the road. You truly never know where life will take you. That, my friend is utterly intimidating and exciting all at once. "Don't you worry your pretty little mind, people throw rocks at things that shine." Never forget the essence of your spark! Maire
