In her brand new single, “Rising Tides, Crashing Skies,” EJ Carey is unashamed to speak her truth. From the first line, it’s clear EJ is taking listeners on a journey, one where she paints a picture of where things went sour in this relationship. The mellow beginnings of the song--with hints of lyrical sass--prepare for the eventual buildup at the chorus that you can’t help but dance along to. From the strong vocals to the honest storytelling, EJ leaves you wanting more.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve had your fair share of binge-watching marathons. With streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, that have EVERY season of Friends, One Tree Hill, and Psych what more could you want to do with your day? That being said, since 2013, Netflix has released an abundance of their own original shows. There are so many to choose from, so I’ve narrowed it down to my top 5.
A tragic tale of love, All the Bright Places, written by Jennifer Niven, is a truly powerful story. Seventeen-year-old Theodore Finch, from Bartlett Indiana, introduces us to this compelling story. Tall, dark haired, and an outcast, Finch finds himself caught between two phases: the Awake and Asleep. When we meet Finch, he is standing at the ledge of a bell tower. Little does he know, he’s not the only one contemplating the jump. Here, we also have Violet Markey. She is seventeen, and counting down the days till her high school diploma is in her hands, and she’s rid of the past that haunts her everyday. As she is standing on the ledge of her school’s bell tower, she is terrified, and then, she meets Finch.
